Taiya Renewable Energy is a local renewable energy development team of Taiwan. TRE’s mission is to promote net-zero emissions, and aims to combine renewable energy development and sustainable business model to achieve carbon neutrality and gradually march towards the goal of net-zero carbon emissions.

TRE will first focus on offshore wind farm development and engineering and construction, and will assume the responsibility of wind farm asset management. TRE strives to make use of advanced international technology for the establishment of a local development team to explore international markets in compliance with the governments renewable energy development targets, offshore wind power policy, and industry chain localization guidelines, as well as offshore wind farm development directives.

Main members of TRE have participated in Taiwan’s offshore wind farm demo site and the selection and bidding processes of Phase 2 Zonal Development, and fully understand and support the government’s promotion of offshore wind energy industry chain localization, while targeting the Asia-Pacific market for expansion. Members of Taiya Renewable Energy include CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering Co. Ltd. (CDWE), Siemens Gamesa, Swancor Renewable Energy, wpd Taiwan, Enercon, Vena Energy, and INA Energy, and have extensive experience in the areas of green energy infrastructures, supply chain localization, project development, investment banking, and government relations.

The TRE team has already planned the development of 2.1GW offshore wind farms off the coasts of Miaoli and Taichung. Environmental investigation of the two wind farms began earlier this year, and application of EIA public announcement has been submitted today (August 2). The Huan Yu Wind Farm located off the shore of Taichung will be using fixed foundation, and will enter the first zonal development bidding process of Phase 3 Offshore Wind Zonal Development; as for Huan Ya Wind Farm located off the shore of Miaoli, it is expected to participate in the second zonal development bidding process, and become Taiwan’s first floating foundation offshore wind farm.

With TRE’s participation, we hope to enhance the competitiveness of Taiwan’s offshore wind energy industry chain.
