Local Taiwanese Renewable Energy Development Team – Taiya Renewable Energy Proactively Participating in Wind Farm Development
Taipei. Local energy developer Taiya Renewable Energy (TRE) is proactively participating in wind farm development, and has recently announced that the company is participating in and leading Taiwan Huanfeng Holding’s Huan Yang Offshore Wind Farm Development Project, which is located off the shore of Changhua.
Huan Yang Offshore Wind Farm is a site of Taiwan’s Phase 3 Offshore Wind Zonal Development located off the shore of Changhua. The wind farm has a surface area of approximately 53 square-kilometers, and the sea depth is between 15 and 45 meters; the site is seven kilometers from the shore at the nearest point, and has steered clear of all environmental sensitivity areas. The wind farm will use fixed underwater foundation, and is projected to install turbines with individual capacities from 9.5MW to 15MW, with a total capacity not exceeding 440WM. Huan Yang Offshore Wind Farm is projected to generate as much as 1.6 billion kWh of electricity annually, which is equivalent to the combined annual electricity consumption of 460,000 households.
“Huan Yang Offshore Wind Farm is the third wind farm development project launched by TRE after Huan Yu and Huan Ya offshore wind farm projects,” said Chairman Irving Lin of TRE. “Taiya Renewable Energy is a local green energy developer of Taiwan, and with this development project, TRE will fully cooperate with the government to support domestic green energy demand and sustainable growth of the local industry’s supply chain, providing assistance to the government’s energy transition policy and realizing Taiwan’s vision of sustainability.”
